The German Sheperd is a working breed admired for its intelligence, devotion and loyalty to its owner, courage, steady demeanor, versatility, and physical prowess. Male German Shepherds is 24 to 26 inches at the shoulder and are 75-90lbs. Females are 22 to 24 inches and generally weigh between 50 and 70 pounds.
German Shepherds have a double coat that developed over the years to protect these herding dogs from rain, snow and burrs. Some dogs have long hair, while most have medium-length length coats. They come in a wide variety of colors and color patterns.
